Title Change?

I'm considering changing the title to "Ruined My Life."  Also a new look that I haven't totally worked out yet.  ruinedmylife.blogspot.com  any thoughts?

Will I regret it?

I've enabled comments, of course now I will KNOW there is no one reading it.

The Kinks Part II

The reason I titled the last post 'The Kinks' is because I'm listening to one of my boss' CDs and I really like it.  A very underrated band!

The Kinks

I was trying to figure out what to write today.  I knew I should.  I've got that uncomfortable I get when my brain is telling me to write.  I've even got the time this afternoon.  So, what did I come up with?  What great story of my life did I have to put out there to the world?  Nothing.  There is nothing exciting going on in my life.  Sure, S and I are trying to plan a wedding and want to buy a bigger house.  The problem is that I look at all of that as practical matters I need to get done.

I think the reason why I have nothing to write about, why nothing is going on is that as one gets older the amount of stimulation that goes into their life decreases.  In college, the great thing was that the campus was in the middle of nowhere (at least mine was) and there we were, 2000 kids thrown together with nothing to do.  You met people all the time.  New people, old people, people you liked and respected, people you couldn't stand.  The thing is, you were stimulated by a constant flow of new situations and ideas.  It was nice.

Now my life consists of working and taking care of the practical matters of life:  eating, sleeping, cleaning, working, etc.  Its not that this is a bad thing, but having a circle of people to exchange ideas with and converse with is something I took for granted in college.  It was a great experience.

Now, this is not meant to sound like I'm miserable.  Not at all, I'm very happy in life.  Just trying to figure out how to get a community back.

I've updated links but haven't had much time to do otherwise. *Sigh*
